I am Animal

So last night I had this weird dream. It goes like this:

My dad and I are on a long drive. The car is our new red convertible. The road we are going on is supposed to be scenic. And boy is it scenic! There are waterfalls every 2 or 3 miles! If you have seen Avatar these are like the waterfalls of the Hallelujah Mountains, just hanging in mid-air. And the road twists and turns around it, like a roller coaster and you swerve this way and that. So we're swishing around and I'm holding onto my dad for dear life. (we're going vertically, if I let go, I actually fall to... I don't know what I would hit, we're too high!) My dad has the greatest idea at the greatest time. ( I hope you realize that last sentence was complete sarcasm)
"Why don't you take pictures? You have your camera right?" He says. I look down at my cute, dull yellow tote bag that's in the back seat which contains my small silver camera and then back at my dad.

"Um... It's in my bag and I can't reach it." I say as I attempt to reach it. My dad just reaches back and gets the camera. He ties it to his wrist and hands the camera to me smiling. I give a partial smile back and attempt to take pictures. but they are all blurry, so I try and change the picture settings to 'Fast' or 'Action' but I keep pressing the wrong buttons and the pictures become blurry. So I give up and just look at the waterfalls. Then, finally we get on a straight road on the ground, I find the right setting and take a picture of a regular waterfall that was actually not that fascinating.

Suddenly, I am in a dark, small space. I see a worm, a monkey, a goat, a cat, and I see myself... an elephant. Someone has trapped us in here, and we're miserable because we can barely move around. But somehow, we find a tunnel, and we climb to the top, I break open the cage door and there's an elevator. I tell goat and mouse to go back down and replace the cage door, then join us. Cat and I (we're best friends) we go into the elevator and go all the way down. When we get out, we realize we are in a Casino. One for animals, so nobody notices that it's weird that we're out. Except this one human girl. When she sees us, she runs to the elevator. We walk out and there's a table in front of us with a bunch of poker chips and a bunch of cards. Cat and I want them all, so one of the humans working there give us two never-ending teeny-weeny black bags for the chips, and two orange bags for the cards.

Suddenly, I am Sandra Bullock, and like Angelina Jolie in Salt, I am a spy and I am running away from the police and my partner is helping me. But after running away from them for two hours, I change my mind and become good again and go back to my work place. But my partner is still a spy and he puts a gun to our boss's head and gets fired.

Then, my dad pulls me out of bed (literally) so that's the end of that.

My Dress Dream

I don't remember much of this dream, so in order to remember what I do now forever, I am going to post it on this blog.

Something big is coming up. Everybody is trying on dresses. Carrie and I go together to  try on dresses. She tries on this white dress that is perfect for her, we all marvel at the way she looks in it: beautiful. Her hair is tied in a pony tail, but when she takes it out, it tumbles down onto her dress and the whole image of her is great.

Next, I go in to try n this white, strapless dress. The breast area of the dress is beaded with glossy, just-a-tiny-bit-of-white beads, it goes down to the floor, and I wear a shrug. They say I look good, and my mom tells me to go fetch her new white heels. I run the closet to get it. I open the closet and it is huge... 20 feet tall and the shoes are at the top. I am determined to get the shoes so I grab onto the jackets and climb up to the top, get the shoes and jump out of the closet, and land on the floor without getting hurt. The shoes have two inches of  heels, with a pretty bow at the toes. I slip them on and my outfit looks complete. I run back to show my mom.

Michael Phelps, Murdered Woman, and Chinese Food

Me, Lony, Jenna, and Carrie are all 18 and we’re going to each have a huge party at different times. For that, we each hired an advertiser to advertise our parties. I am the first one to plan out my party and advertise it and almost everyone I invited RSVPed with a ‘YES’. But Lony, Sweta, and Ishanee hadn’t planned their parties yet. They were freaking out because time was flying.
One day, I am going to the meeting room that we have set up so everyone can see each other’s advertisements and say if they have any objections or ways to correct them. I’m a little late, and so is Lony’s advertiser. So, I walk in with him to see that they have all planned their parties and they all have made invitation cards and are not going to use their advertisers. Lony’s advertiser, however had already come up with an advertisement.
“Sorry, but I’m going to use these invitation cards.” Lony says, “You’re fired.” I see her cards, they are little pretty flowers, then I see Ishanee’s cards they are cute little elephants. Before I can see Sweta’s I see that Lony’s advertiser (ex-advertiser) is starting to set up the advertisement that he made for Lony’s party. I go to him and I stop him.
“Stop, Stop! She fired you, putting the ad up won’t do anything. See, she already has all her invitations.” I say in a soft voice. He looks like he’s about to cry. I pull him into the foyer of the meeting place try to calm him down. But he’s in denial that Lony fired him.
I get him to leave and walk back into the room where Lony and Sweta are talking and Ishanee went to the bathroom. Lony says,
“Did you get rid of the ad dude?”
“Yeah” I say
“Good.” She says. And then we start talking about something else and laughing and all that.
That weekend, I go to a restaurant and wait for my friend to come… and wait… and wait… and wait. Finally, around 11:30 PM, I get up and go look for him. If he lives in this town, he can’t be too far right? Right. I see him going into a Kroger across the street. I get really happy and follow him in. I walk behind him in the isle, and he never turns and never sees me. I don’t call out his name either. I follow him out of Kroger and down a couple blocks to a club. He walks in and without thinking, I walk in behind him. I follow him and there’s super loud music and a huge crowd but I manage to follow him and see him walk up to another girl and they just sit in that corner and make out. It sickens me, so I get out of the club and walk up the streets going to catch the bus. But then I see my dad walking down the street, not toward me but he could see me if he turned his head. I quickly jump around and cover my face with my hand and run back into the club.
The next morning I go to a friend’s house, a friend from the club. And a couple others. One of them, Kayla, is very excited because she got 5 free tickets to the Olympics. The others just sit down and start boxing on the Wii. In a couple minutes my mom finds me and she walks up to me and slaps me hard twice on the cheek and says, “What were you thinking?!” I look at her and make up this whole story that I really don’t expect her to buy.
“Well, I don’t really know how I got to the town but I must have sleep walked and then I got hungry and I thought the club was a restaurant and went in there but after I realized it was actually a club the guard dude said I couldn’t leave and so I found a couple girls and left with them.” I lied. And she actually believed me. And said to come home when I was done here.
Suddenly, Kayla started crying and she wouldn’t talk to anybody. So I went up to her. She was hiding under the table.
“What’s wrong Kayla?” I asked. She jumped out from under the table and onto me, making my fall onto the ground. She’s on top of me, crying hysterically.
“They just called me… and … I didn’t get tickets to the Olympics… I got backstage passes! I GET TO MEET MICHAEL PHELPS!!” She cried, and that’s when I realized she was happy crying. After all that was done, I started watching the Wii boxing. It was happening on two sides and four people total were fighting. Two were the fighters; two were the people they were fighting with. Whoever went down first won, but they had to try. This black girl went down first. Suddenly, it became live, and I was the news person. The white girl won but the black girl was all like, “But I went down first.”
Then, I suddenly became a girl, running away with these men with horses chasing me. I was close to home, I say my horses walking around and I hopped on one of them and rode home. There, my mother was digging a pool and my dog was splashing around in a shallow puddle my mom created with our hose. “Hey Mom.” I say, jumping over the puddle and running into the house, shutting the door and the blinds. My grandma is a neat freak. I put her to sleep when the new people arrive to interview me. I put on a pity story and they run.
Then I am suddenly in a restaurant eating with my friend Cat. I am Bones and Booth is sitting right next to me. Instead of getting a fortune cookie, we get a pencil. And mine says the word ‘BONE’. I think it’s the cutest thing. And Booth is bored he just nods his head in agreement. We have to go because a murdered woman has been discovered and her eyeballs have been cut out. We go downstairs and someone from upstairs calls and says Cat was stabbed to death right after we left. Booth and I start running up and become  Poppy and me, we stop at a Chinese restaurant to eat. Then we go to a Korean restaurant to eat. And the Korean dude says, “You eat Chinese then Korean, who you kidding?” In a Korean accent. Then we go to a fast eat Japanese restaurant and eat the food fast so the Japanese guy doesn’t catch us.
Then I wake up.

Parties, Flying Cars, Cliffs, and a Sunset that takes me away

I had this dream on Sunday when I was sleeping in the car when we were driving back home from Ohio.
I have had this dream before, I don't remember when. But everyone in the dream also knew that it was a dream and that I have had it before.

I returned from a party with my friend and two brothers. The younger one sat down and watched TV but the older one took out a camcorder and started taping us. He said, "And today is the day to reveal some secrets!" and zoomed in on me. I walked up and put my hand on the lens and we all started laughing. Just then, my friends mother comes and is shocked. She says, "How dare you laugh!" and pulls my friend away who is looking at me with eyes that say Help Me! I have a flashback and I know that in the end of the dream the mother will go crazy and will reveal the truth about herself.

My brothers disappear as I walk into the hallway where the butler is waiting for me. He knows exactly what I want him to do: Find clues. But he has already found them and kept them from the last time this dream took place. He has put them all in a vent under the runner under the decorating tables in the hallway. He takes out the clues and we rush to the car: my grandfather's old ambassador car. Surprisingly, it can fly. And everyone knows that we'll find another clue in the pocket of the back seat of the car but we don't "find" it yet because it isn't the right time.

At this part of the dream I find out that I am part of a tribe: the Oriya. We have been underestimated and looked upon as stupid and unhygienic by the rest of the tribes. All the tribes have one Great Spirit that they pray to and when the time is right the Great Spirit comes out and gives you advise, but it is never straight forward. It is always a riddle, or symbolic, or poetic, and you have to figure it out and find out what he's talking about.
After about ten minutes in the car, the Great Spirit jumps in. It is like a ghost, his head, and only his head flies into the car and says: He is not to be trusted. The swarm of Bees will kill. He flies away. I have no idea what he just said but I have no time to think about it because right then a guy and girl jump into the car and say, "Hi! I'm Oriya." I am glad to have someone else to relate to and say, "Me too!" We talk for a while and I learn that the boy has a power to make whatever he wants appear out of thin air.

"I know how to help you." He says. I tell him to help me. Suddenly a swarm of dangerous Bees come out from underneath the seats of the car. "What are you doing?!" I yell.
"Saving you by killing you!" he says. I panic and jump out of the car and land in a river. From the riverI see a tribe lined up on both sides. And I see the same boy giving them instructions.
"I am from the Oriya. Since you have looked down upon us our whole surviving lives, I will kill you. But. To make it a fair fight, I will give you a chance at making an arrow and killing me before I make you jump off of that cliff." Oh no, I recognize the tribe, the suck at making arrows. How can I help them? About 25 arrows appear in my arms. I go around and sneakily give one to each of the tribe members without getting caught. When I am giving an arrow to the last person, the boy sees me. I shove the arrow in his arms and go underwater and swim breaststroke all the way down the river. I get about 100 feet in front of the boy but the river ends and I have to get out and run. I run as fast as I can but it isn't fast enough. The boy catches me and takes me to the top of the cliff. I choose a spot on the cliff and jump into the river and bend just at the right time surviving the deadly fall. I swim to the end of the river and notice the spirits of all the people who died on the jump swimming with me. I reach the end and run to a tree and climb up it. I find about six other people in the trees with tennis balls and baseballs. "What are you doing here?" I said.
"We survived the fall too, and we are going to throw these balls at the boy when he comes after you." One of them says.
"Thank You." I see the boy coming but he stops. He calls out to someone then grins. A huge monster: a dull yellow colored, mean King Kong comes after us. We all run in different directions. Soon, I lose the monster and run out of the forest to encounter the most beautiful scenery ever.

The grass is up the my lower thighs, the sun is just about to set and it reflects off of the grass making it look golden. I spot a person: A dancer, dancing in the golden grass. The sun reflecting off of her skin making it shine almost as bright as the sun. She is graceful, beautiful the best dancer I have ever seen. She turns in circles and jumps and moves her arms and her long skirt flies everywhere with her silky black hair. I walk up to her quietly she stops spinning and looks at me, a calm smile rests on her lips. I recognize her! "Jenna?!" I ask, so surprised to see her here in my dream, dancing in the middle of nowhere.
"Hi." She says calmly then continues to dance.
"What are you doing here?"
"Dancing"
"In the middle of nowhere?"
"Yup!"
"Who is picking you up?"
"Your parents"
"What?!"
Right then my parents' car pulls up and we both get in. My dad says,"Oh, sorry I forgot to bring you a change of clothes Sweta."
"Oh, It's alright. I'll just sit in this."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." So we continue driving on the highway and Sweta and I talk. We stop at a gas station. I walk around and find a food court. I see a girl with curly blonde hair sitting there. I suddenly know her name: Sarah. She is crying her eyes out and screaming. I walk past her scared of what might happen if I do talk to her and sit at the other table.

After I wake up, I realise we actually have stopped at a gas station but no food court and no crying girls.

What Killed Me: Fire and the Ice Age

When I first came to Texas, my parents and I didn't have a place to stay, so we stayed at a friend of my Uncle's house. The 8 year old who lived in that house soon became my best friend. This dream takes place at that time.

My eyes flutter open, I am in a room. What kind of room is this? I try to get up but my hands are tied to the bed I am lying on. I turn my head to the left and there is Shannon tied to the bed in the same position as me. We both look around seeing guards at every door and window leading out of the room. More men walk in. They are all wearing black body suits and oxygen masks. They carry in huge Avon containers filled with some kind of gas. We both start coughing. Shannon looks at me. "It's my mom. She's trying to suffocate us!" she says, accusing her mom of murder.
"Shannon, you don't know what your saying." She just shakes her head as an answer to that. Suddenly, a dog comes in. Shannon doesn't really have a dog, but I know this is her golden retriever. I feel a ball in my hands and the ropes binding us are untied. I look at the ball it is small and read. Suddenly, I know what to do with it. I through it past a guard's head into the following room. The dog runs after it and all the guards get distracted. They all follow the dog. Shannon and I run out of under the covers and out of the room we're running down the metal stairs triumphantly.
"We won't suffocate!" Shannon says. I sniff. The smell of smoke fills my nose.
"Uh.. Shannon? Do you smell smoke?" I ask. Shannon looks at me, her face full of worry. At the same time, we both look down. A huge fire rages on the bottom floor of the house. I fell the stairs start to break under my feet. The stairway tumbles down into the fire taking us with it.
The last thing I hear, is Shannon's voice fading away saying, "I knew she was evil."

***

The fire is over but somehow, the house is still standing. I stumble out from under a pile of debri and so does Shannon. My mom comes out coughing. My dad was still taking a shower when the fire happen. He comes out of the bathroom wearing only a towel at his waist. Shannon's mom stumble's in from the back yard. And we all wait but Shannon's dad and sister never come out.
My dad looks angry. He shouts, "THAT'S IT! We're going back to India!" We go buy tickets to Mumbai and from there we catch a train to Odissa.

The train stops. Everyone is confused. I push back the curtains near the window and see people trying to run away frozen in cubes of ice. My brow crumples up in confusion as I guiltily think, thank god, I'm in this train and not frozen out there. I soon come to the most reasonable conclusion in my head: The ice age has hit, yet again.

The following morning Shannon found me curled up in a ball on the floor. She woke me up and I ran to my parents and cried. I was 9.

Death by Suffocation

When I was just 4 years old we lived in an apartment in Georgia. This dream takes place there.

I walk along the balconies of multiple apartments. I am walking to the stairs. There is a huge space above it. I see my father standing in the middle of that area. There is something over his head. A ZipLoc bag. What can a bag do? I skip along. "Daddy!" I shout. I keep skipping toward him. When I am about twenty five feet away from him, I stop. I try to keep moving but my legs are frozen. I can't move them!

Daddy is struggling. I can tell, I don't know why though. Maybe it's because of the ZipLoc bag. He nods as if he can hear my thoughts. I make hand gestures showing him how to take the bag off. He tries it but he can't do it. He can't take it of. If only my legs weren't frozen, I could go help him! He falls to the ground. He is having spasms, or so it seems. I am still trying to move, but I can't.

In a few minutes he stops thrashing about. And at four, I know. I know that he's dead.

I woke up crying from that dream. Not realizing that it was actually a dream. I ran to my parents room and slept with them for the rest of the night. I was four years old when my dad died in my dreams.

A Slumber Party with Strangers and Disappearing Stairways

My whole school is invited to my birthday party, so are my best friends outside of school, their parents, and all the extended family we have. Although I should be nervous, I am not. There are enough rooms in our huge 5 story house if you squish four or five people into each room. No, I am not nervous... until everyone starts arriving. When you say, "Come to my house at six!" you expect people to come at 6:30 or so. But not these people. They came exactly at six: all of them. It's like they stand outside your door looking at their watch. It's 5:59. 3...2...1... Ding! Dong!

I run to the door and see the long line of hundreds of people waiting outside the door. The sad thing is: I don't even know who the first person that walked in is. They all come tumbling into my house. Each of them sign in (when hundreds of teenagers are stampeding into your home, sign in sheets are needed, trust me) and they get their room number and a map of the house (if you need a map in you first day at school, you need a map in my house... I bet you it's more than twice the size).

That night, it's finally calm, and I'm in my room with my friends Shannon, Carrie, Jenna, Lisa, and Sarah. Of course, we stay up all night talking, playing cards, watching TV and stuff like that. The next day, I go down to an area that is surrounded by four pillars, it is a square, a dance floor. The parents are all in there wearing fancy clothes and dancing. I go back to the stairs because I forgot to get something from my room. I am half way up the stairs when my Uncle sees me and starts walking up with me. We get to the second flight of stairs but wait... it's gone! I say, "Where did the stairs go?"
Uncle says, "I don't know..."
I shrug, "Oh well, we'll take the other stairs." Yes, I have two stairways in my mansion. Jealous?

It's time for everyone to go home. Sad... I had a lot of fun. I see all these strangers walking out of my house and I realize that I didn't even talk to more than half the people that came to my party.

That was an odd dream.
